Four Staff Receive MAA Professional Achievement Awards

MAA 2024 Winners

The Massachusetts Apartment Association named four Chestnut Hill Realty staff as recipients of this year’s Professional Achievement Awards. The awards, which recognize individuals who go above and beyond within their professional career and make significant contributions to the multifamily industry, were presented at the 2024 MAA President’s & Achievement Awards ceremony held in Boston.

John DeMunda, Senior Property Manager at 1443 Brookline Signature Properties, was named Apartment Manager of the Year. Throughout his 11 years at Chestnut Hill Realty, John has served as Assistant Property Manager and Property Manager at three communities in Brighton, Cambridge and Norwood. John has polished his skills at managing increasingly larger properties, overseeing capital improvement projects, resolving resident issues, training staff, and streamlining operations. “What stands out to me,” says Regional Property Manager Donna Coccia, “is his outstanding management style, ability to mentor his team, build rapport with staff and residents and earn everyone’s respect, all in John’s humble, confident manner.”

Jefferson Saldivar, Service Technician at Village Green in Plainville, was selected as MAA’s Apartment Maintenance Technician of the Year. Jefferson began working for Chestnut Hill Realty 15 years ago at Regency Plaza in Providence, then sought to advance his skills by transferring to Village Green. “Jefferson brings a lot of joy to his job because of his positive attitude and upbeat personality,” says Village Green Service Manager Walter Brush. “His work ethic is great and he is always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asks.”

Nicole Zambruski, Resident Services Professional at Hancock Village in Chestnut Hill, was honored with the Leasing Professional of the Year award. Nicole, whose accolades include receiving CHR’s Most Rentals award in 2019 and 2022, is known as much for her warmth, team mentality and relationship building skills as she is for her sales and leasing talent. “I can give her any project, any challenging resident, or any report to put together, and know that she will perform above anyone’s expectations,” says Leasing Manager Robert Rose. “Her follow-through is impeccable.”

Norwood Gardens Property Manager Corey True received the Assistant Apartment Manager of the Year award in recognition of her nearly 14 years as an Assistant Property Manager at Village Green prior to her current promotion. To Village Green Property Manager Christeen Restante, Corey was an indispensable part of her staff. “Her unwavering commitment to our property and residents was truly remarkable,” says Restante. “She is effective and productive in every aspect of her job.”

Additionally, Hancock Village Senior Maintenance Manager Ivan Pena was one of three finalists for the Apartment Maintenance Supervisor of the Year award.

The Massachusetts Apartment Association’s annual President’s & Achievement Awards recognizes excellence in property management and service within the local multifamily industry. The awards are highly coveted by those who work in the local property management field.
